The Absorber! Best thing I’ve ever used to dry my car
Personal
I recently purchased the second black car in my life, and while I’d probably pay just as much attention to any other colour – I pretty much have to go to town when I do a full clean on my black beauty.
I’ve tried just about everything in my quest for the ideal drying method after washing my car; natural chamois (or shammy, for the uncouth), synthetic chamois, terry towel, that ‘sham-wow’ atrocity, those stupid air hose things some car washes have, and driving home really fast…
Until now I’ve been relatively pleased with certain synthetic chamois’s I’ve tried, but randomly wandering through my local Hughes car and truck wash today I happened upon this little puppy. It’s called “The Absorber” and in the words of the cashier in the store, it is “the best thing I’ve ever bought.”
It’s considerably more absorbent and easy to use than the best alternative I’ve tried. It can be machine washed (though I just clipped it into the mat wash rack and used the pressure washer at the car wash), and to store it you just wring it out and put it back in the plastic storage tube (it claims it will never rot).
If you’re anal about washing your car, and want to dry it painlessly after washing to avoid streaks – I highly recommend picking up “The Absorber” and keeping it in your trunk.
Like I said I got mine at Hughes (this one specifically), so you can probably find one there if you’re in Edmonton or surrounding area. Otherwise, they sell them online!
I wonder if they want a new website…
