My pleasure!! Simplicity is great. Canvas is killer too if you’re into responsive sites :)

Only one theme is free!!!!!!!! what a joke!!!!!!!!

    • http://nickpierno.com/ Nick Pierno

Why do you say that? Did you read the first line of the post

  • Carol

Thanks! I want to use Canvas, but it’s not clear if I can change the nav bar to look like what’s shown. I played in the “playground” but didn’t see this function.

    • http://nickpierno.com/ Nick Pierno

Are you referring to the nav bar with rounded edges in the theme demo? That is the default nav and should definitely show up that way when installed.

For some reason I can’t even access the playground area or else I’d take a look. Maybe the theme in there is an older version!?

      • Carol

Thanks. No, I don’t like the default. But the version in the link for the hook location shows the design I’d like. I guess I’ll pay the $150 for access to Canvas, Simplicity and Whitelight. I’m moving away from U-Design, which was too confusing.

        • http://nickpierno.com/ Nick Pierno

I see! I actually jsut fixed that link, they changed the url when they updated canvas and I guess that’s where the redirect goes now :p

The one I see on the hook/filter page looks like the old version of canvas (with the line above and below..?), and yes you totally can achieve that – even without modding the template. It should be right in the Woo options panel!

Also, you don’t have to spend $150 I don’t think. If you buy canvas, you get get those other two (excellent choices btw!) Unless you want the PSD. I find I don’t usually need it, but then again I do most of my mods with the templates/css, and I use custom graphics as needed.

          • Carol

Ah, and I just figured out how to change the Nav bar.
It’s still a pain to use because customization sometimes means too much choice. Are you suuuure the others come with the $75? I’m making a site (I’m principally the content person but I have a 2009-era knowledge of WordPress) for a firm and now appreciate the value of getting a theme that’s ready to go! Perhaps I can hire you for some WP surgery.

          • http://nickpierno.com/ Nick Pierno

Well, woothemes do offer a ton of customization, but they’re also really predictable and stable (unlike many other theme makers).

Just try not to get overwhelmed and feel the need to modify everything just because you can :p

Yep. You get two free themes with the $70 option – valid for any theme that is out at the time you buy it (there are a couple exceptions, like the woocommerce themes and the support portal app).

I’m always open to a little contract work if there’s something I can help you with :)
